From the pastor's desk

In the name of The Father The Son and The Holy Spirit.

June 5, Pentecost Sunday, was a remarkable day for The OurSaviour  Lutheran Church family. Pastor Alfred Thiagarajan performed a special baptismal ceremony for Mr. Jai P Ramprashad, an adult,  in the tradition of the Church and The Our Saviour congregation. The congregation prayed earnestly for the Holy Spirit to be present. It was a colorful ceremony, it was traditional, precise, inclusionary, and emotional.

The Scripture reading of the day was from The Gospel of St John (ESV) as follows:

Mr. John Minet 14:23 in English

Mr. Dean Avdoulas  14:24 in Spanish

Mr. Alan Towson 14:25 in French

Pastor Mushtaq Masih 14:26 in Urdu

Mrs. Karen 14:27 in Hebrew

Mrs. Agnes Ebenezer 14:28 in Tamil.

representing the diversity of the congregation. In a similar fashion, the Aaronic blessing was read in these languages.

The congregation welcomed the new members enthusiastically as evidenced by their cheers and open hearts. It was a life-changing experience for the inductees -  Mr. Jai P Ramprashad,  Mr. Mushtaq Masih, Mrs. Roma Mushtaq, and Mrs. Debrah Brooks.

Fellowship time was celebratory. The cakes, pastry, and coffee apart, congratulations flowed and the atmosphere was nothing short of purely joyous. Alleluiah.
